The 2009 Sierra Summer Star Party is going to be held Friday, August 21 through Sunday, August 23, 2009. We are tentatively planning for it to be at the Alpine County Airport again. More details will be forthcoming.

This next year, we hope to grow our attendance at SSSP to be about 30 to 50 astronomers plus guests. We will be actively getting the word out about SSSP beginning early next year.

The 2nd Annual Sierra Summer Star Party was held on September 26-28 at the Alpine County Airport in the Eastern Sierras south-east of Lake Tahoe. Both Friday and Saturday nights provided us clear dark skies with very little breeze. This next year, we will be "getting the word out" about this event.

We want to put together a section on this web that is basically a listing of all of the astronomy clubs in the western region with contact information (no emails will be listed because of spam-bots...) We also want to put together calendar of all of the regional astronomy events, including your own club activities.
